Smile

Hello creative friends.  I have been a bit absent from blogging because Spring finally arrived in the Hudson Valley.  I have been raking, weeding and discovering all the new growth.  Last year I wasn't able to do a great deal of my own yard work, because of my hip.  Well, this year, with my NEW hip, I am ready to go!!!

It is raining today so I am having fun indoors.  My card today is for the MFT Sketch Challenge #224.  I started looking through my ever growing MFT supplies and found this adorable piece sign die.  So began my walk down memory lane, flowers in my hair and of course tie dye.  Yes, I folded the paper and dipped it in several Distress inks to simulate the died fabric. I fortunately had some scraps of hand made paper that were perfect for this technique.  It needs to be a rice paper or very strong alternative and also has to be able to fold.  As I dipped the color, I then blotted with paper towels.  I gave it some time to dry and then ironed it flat.  I like the way it turned out.  I made another color combination to use later.  The piece signs were cut and then embossed.
