Friends

This is my entry for the weekly Card Patterns sketch challenge.  I decided to go a little shabby.  I like the way it turned out.  It reminded me of the old verse, "Make new friends, but keep the old.  One is silver and the other gold." I think this was a Girl Scout song.

The papers are from S.E.I. and scraps.  All stamps are from Hero Arts.  The background is (S518) Modern Lines and was stamped with Versafine, Toffee. The Bold Flourish (S5146) was embossed with Ranger, Queens Gold.  The insert in the circle was printed from the Hero Arts digital friends stamp and the color was changed in Photoshop.  I actually made a pretty good match.  The flowers were cut with a Sizzix die and the circle was cut with Friskars.  Lastly, added yellow gems from K and Co. and roughed up the paper with an emery board to show some of the white core.

  3. Nancy, your card is so wonderful. I love how you interpreted the sketch, very unique. I'm with Lin, now I'm replaying the Girl Scout song in my head too! There is truth to those words though. I checked out some of your other posts and I will be back to read about your grandmother when I have time stay awhile.
    blessings to you,
