Life Changes

This is my entry for the current monthly challenge at Caardvarks.

I decided to try another shabby card.  I was going for a vintage wallpaper look.  I may have gone a little overboard with the distressing, but I honestly like the vintage feel.

The striped paper is from Paperpizazz, and the others are from scraps.  I used two Hero Arts stamps: Wavy Line Pattern and Life Changes.  Both were stamped with Versafine, Vintage Sepia.  I used Tim Holtz, Frayed Burlap, distress ink to warm up the images.  The sheet music is a photocopy, and the old photograph is actually a picture of my Aunt Connie and her friend, also a photocopy.  I would never cut these wonderful original photos.    My Grandmother was a seamstress and saved every button she ever had.  I am now the lucky owner of quite a collection of vintage buttons.

  2. Hi Nancy, love this vintage card, the distressing is fabulous and lucky you to have all those buttons, I inherited a small tin of buttons from my mum and they are great for card making.

  4. Beautiful vintage style, Nancy! It looks just like the wallpaper I remember in my friend's closet as a child. She lived in a very old house and her walk in closet had not been spruced up yet....your card took me right back to those days of dolls and hide-n-seek. I love using vintage family photos too, this one is so special. Truly wonderful card, and thanks for the walk down memory lane!

  12. I really enjoy the distressing on this card. Partly because it fits your theme, partly because of the manner in which is was distressed and lastly because I have such a hard time pulling off the look that I envy you greatly for being able to do so!
