Happy Birthday

Hello creative friends!  My card today is for two challenges. Ordinarily I don't enter one card in multiple challenges, but today's card just turned out that way.  First challenge is Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #188 - Ombre Backgrounds.  The second challenge is for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - We're Seeing Stars.

My card.....

I used the ombre concept in a different way, but I think it qualifies for the PTI challenge.

I made my own stencil from a PTI cover plate using Grafix Matte Stencil Film and my Big Shot.  This film works really well, and will turn any die cut into a stencil.

Next I cut star shapes from the ombre stamping.

Easy.

Supplies:
Paper:  Neenah
Ink:  Versafine, PTI, HA and Mama Elephant
Stamps:  PTI
Dies/Punches:  Nestabilities and Simon Says
Other:  Grafix Matte Stencil Film

I just had to share a little color inspiration from my back yard.  Natures red carpet to go with my chairs.

Have a great day!

  2. What a great way to put a twist on that technique, Nancy! Love how your stars turned out - beautiful card! And wow - those leaves look amazing! We're already freezing our butts off here in Minnesota! Way too cold, way too early! Enjoy our autumn weather while it lasts. Hugs to you! ♥
